{p.r.i.v.a.t.e}

Teela lied in the soft, white sand. It covered all of her docile body apart from her petite face with stunning dumbo ears. How she wished she could have girly friends, and just talk to her friends for hours on end. But her mother kind of ruined her reputation. She slowly hefted herself onto her feet and walked gently to the waters edge. She sat there, and looked into the blue sky. The water passed at her, wetting above her tiny paws. She sighed, would she ever have friends?

Kal loved the water so she always ventured to the beach. The feel of the warm sand between her small pink toes sent a shiver down her spine. There was a faint figure near the water, Kal moved forward for a closer look. It was another rat! Excitedly, she ran as fast as she could to the waters ege, her speed went up in pace as she hit the waterlogged sand. "Hi there! My names Kal!" She splurted out. Her voice was high and squeaky. The doe's head as she turned her head slightly looking at the doe, as she spoke.

Inky was a traveller. She very rarely stayed in the same place for more than a few weeks, before she once again got cold feet and decided to explore further lands. She had been doing this almost since her birth, but she couldn't remember. She just supposed this fact, and it had been backed up by one of her friends, who she had known for a long time. This travelling had made Inky wise up to the lands. She had to face it: a rat was tiny. There were so many hunters out there, and who knew how many rats had been lost at sea?

Her evenly-spaced whiskers twitched slightly in the breeze as she began to trod across the first edges of pale sand. Harsh sea air, smelling thickly of sea salt, hit her as she got further along. She had not walked far, but the grass was already beginning to be taken over by sand, which was shifting ever so slightly in the wind that got ever stronger when one approached the sea.

The doe decided not to go right up to the water's edge, for a few reasons. One was that the wind would get stronger as she went, and she did not know this area well enough to find protective coves. Secondly, she could smell two strange does in the distance. Immidiatley after thinking this thought, Inky decided she wanted to meet these strange rats. Why not? They were both girls... They probably wouldn't hurt her.

As she neared the thick sandy shores, she decided to give it a go. 'Hi!' she said, just loud enough for someone else to hear. 'Anyone there?'

Teela jumped suddenly at the rats voice ringing into her ears. She turned at the voice lightly, and saw two does before her. Smile lit up her face, she suddenly stood out like no other. Her voice was quiet, yet enthusiastic. "Hi there! I'm Teela..What may I call you?"

She couldn't beleive it. She had two does before her. Hopefully they didn't know about her mother. She wondered when she would confront Mystic..When she could tell her that she was a kind, happy rat.

Kalli poked her head up from the water as she hear the two does speaking. "Hello!" she exclaimed, making sure both the rats could hear her, "My name is Kalli. Well I prefer Kal."

One of the two does looked adventureous, and the other, a cute little rat. She'd love to have a kit like Teela. A happy-go-luck doe that never seemed sad. Though a friend like Inky would be a friend for life. Kal knew she wanted to have some friends. Trying to seem friendly, she plastered a smile on her face.

'Wow, I've never met a stranger bunch, if you don't mind me saying so. I'm called Inky. Well, I sorta called myself Inky, because I can't remember my mother or anything. I just explore everywhere, I never stay in the same place for too long. Really.' She came closer to the two other rats, feeling braver than she probably looked. 'Teela and Kal, what pretty names. I was never given a fancy, exotic name. I'm just Inky because... well... Someone said I looked like I'd fallen in a pot of ink. How a rat could fit in a pot of ink, I don't know.'

Teela's smile continued on. She was delighted. "Wow, Inky, thats interesting! I, and Kal I'm sure, would love to travel with you some time." She took a glance at Inky, then passed it to Kali. She let her smile down a slight, she suddenly felt concerned and a tad depressed. Her mother. Surely one of them would of heard of her. "Um...Say, you wouldn't happened to of met my mum? If so..I'll let you know, I'm nothing like her." She sounded a little iffy during the speach, she lowered her head a little at the thought of Mystic. She hadn't seen her in days, for that she was glad.

Kal wished she had such an interesting history as Inky did, "That's such an interesting name, Inky! You're so lucky!" She looked at Teela and nodded slightly. "I'd love to come traveling, if you and Inky ever go." The smile returned to her face, she'd never been travelling before. It would be a great experience! "No Teela, I've never heard of your mother before. Should I have?" Her voice sounded knowingly. She didn't want to make Teela sad after knowing her for less than ten minutes!

Inky, feeling quite at ease with the two other rats, sat in a very cute way, as rats do when they wash their whiskers. Her large ears were high, and her white whiskers alert to the sea breeze. If one was to take a video shot, it would have been humerous to make her eyes red, raise a paw to her mouth and animate flying sand around her, making her become a rat-version of that evil dude from Austin Powers.

'Mum? Nup, never knew a mum before. Hmm, I wonder what it'd be like to be a mum. I mean, how do they learn everything? Mums know EVERYTHING.' She seemed unaware she was chattering away wildly. 'Maybe they learn it in their pregnancy? Hm.'

She let out a small sigh of releif, now she knew that they couldn't have even a slight idea that she was horrible and mean like her mum, as she wasn't. She replied back in a once again, cheerful, voice, "Ahh. Its best you don't...If you see her, keep clear. She's a russian blue downunder incase your wondering. And Inky, they may know alot..But not all of them are so great..." She let her words sink in. She wished she could have a mother like herself, one that was caring and loved to talk. She suddenly relised she was beginning to frown. She shook the thought away like no other, and put on a normal face.
